| FAQ:
What
is The HayNet?
The HayNet, founded in 1994, is the equine industry’s largest
web directory. In 1997, The HayNet was acquired by Blood-Horse Publications,
a leading publisher of equine magazines, directories and websites.
Blood-Horse Publications, based in Lexington, Kentucky, is the publisher
of The Blood-Horse magazine (available on the web at www.bloodhorse.com),
The Horse magazine (online at www.thehorse.com),
and The Horse Source equine industry directory. In 2003, the company
initiated the merger of its two sizable equine directories on The
HayNet website (www.haynet.net).
What
information is available on The HayNet?
The HayNet includes two distinct equine industry directories. The
Horse Source, the industry’s largest all-breed, all-discipline
directory of products, services, and organizations, features more
than 10,000 listings. The original HayNet features more than 11,000
“web-only” listings in approximately 30 categories ranging
from Barn Equipment and Veterinarians to Kid’s Stuff and Personal
Web Pages.
How
do I submit my equine business or service for inclusion on The HayNet?
The HayNet is no longer accepting “web-only” submissions.
Instead all equine businesses, service providers, and organizations
are encouraged to submit a listing through The Horse Source. To
submit your listing, go to: http://www.thehorse.com/source/source_listing2003.asp. Please note that each submission to The Horse Source must be
approved prior to publication. We regret that we can no longer accept
submissions for sites that do not promote an equine business, service
or organization.
I previously
submitted my listing on The HayNet. How do I modify this listing?
If you previously submitted a listing on The HayNet, you are asked
to submit a new listing through The Horse Source to ensure online
listing after June 1. To resubmit your listing to The Horse Source,
go to: http://www.thehorse.com/source/source_listing2003.asp.
When
will my information appear online?
We are currently accepting online submissions for the March 2003
edition of The Horse Source printed and online directories. At the
publisher’s discretion, some categories and submission may
appear in the printed edition of The Horse Source. All approved
listings will be posted online for one year. A real-time submission
system will be introduced later in the year.
Do I
have to pay for this service?
The HayNet and Horse Source search services are free to all users
of the site. In addition, listings of equine businesses and organizations
are free. The HayNet/Horse Source generates revenue through the
sale of advertising and enhanced listings. If you are interested
in advertising on The HayNet/Horse Source, please contact Shelley
Partridge at [email protected]
or at 800.866.2361, ext 6818.
